Behind the Greens with Kelly Lopez
Hi! My name is Kelly Lopez. I’m a Midwest girl (who secretly believes I’m better suited to live life on a beach), a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), herbal enthusiast, wife, and mom of two energetic boys. My journey into the world of nutrition began in the 7th grade when a seemingly straightforward report on the food pyramid turned into a life-altering revelation. Opting to explore the ‘Meats and Protein’ section due to growing up on the family farm (heyyy easy ‘A’!), I was surprised to uncover the profound impact of dietary choices on overall health. At the ripe age of 13, I made the decision to eliminate red meat from my diet. (Much to the surprise of my family!)
As the years unfolded, my curiosity deepened, leading me to question the role of food in many different areas of my well-being and that of my growing family. Two decades after eliminating red meat, I realized that a transformative shift was once again needed. Battling compounding health issues and continued low energy, I, with the unwavering support of my husband (and unknowing support of our two little boys) jumped feet first into a plant-based lifestyle. Armed with determination and fueled by the desire for vibrant health, I immersed myself in plant-based nutrition.
In 2021, I formalized my commitment to holistic health by becoming a Certified Holistic Nutritionist. Today, I passionately share my knowledge and experience, dedicating myself to helping others discover the vitality that comes with living a life of health and wellness. Seeing major improvements in all areas of my health and well-being, I can no longer imagine life any other way. It feels so good to FEEL GOOD!
My story is a testament to the transformative power of conscious nutrition and the profound impact it can have on our lives. Join me on this journey toward vibrant well-being – because feeling alive is a choice worth making.
